How To Get Your Happy On Without The Need To Spend…Part 2

As promised here’s the second instalment of my 20 tips for getting your happy on without spending.

If you missed part one you can find it here. They don’t have to be followed in any order, just pick one you like and start working on it.

In the current situation with much of the world on a lock down, with all the fear and panic that is currently rife out there, these happiness tips are more important than ever. I hope you can find a moment out of your day to stop, take a few deep breaths and centre yourself so you don’t get overwhelmed as you go about your day.

So without further ado, lets continue.

11. Do Your Best To Stay Detached

Not allowing a situation to swallow you whole so that you can deal with it accordingly and make alternative arrangements or plans. When we become engulfed in a situation we don’t think rationally and you can start to feel overwhelmed by it. Stay balanced and look at what can be done rather than over thinking about what can’t be done.

12. Get Over A Grudge

By holding onto a grudge you are hurting yourself more than the person you have the grudge with. If its something and nothing or a misunderstanding then let it go and take steps to make up. If it’s something more serious then try to move on without the anger or the grudge eating away at you. You don’t have to keep a person in your life to be able to forgive them.

13. Take A Hike

Taking a walk in nature and taking it all in releases feel good chemicals in the brain. Go outside, take in some fresh air.

14. Turn Up The Tunes

Music is a frequency so why not raise your vibration with some of your favourite tunes. Grab the hairbrush and sing along. Whats the worst that can happen?…Someone might see you and you’ll make them smile too.

15. Spread Joy

Did you know that negative energy is much more dense than positive energy but both are just as contagious. This is where the old saying comes from “Misery Loves Company” So spread joy, say hello, pay a compliment to somebody, smile, hold a door open.

16. Get A New Hobby

Loose yourself in a new hobby. It doesn’t have to cost a lot of money. Learn a new skill on YouTube, learn an arts or crafts skill, you don’t have to go out and buy all new expensive gear for a hobby. Use the internet, search charity/thrift shops.

17. Make Time For Your Pooch

Play with your pets. To them you are their whole world. They love us unconditionally. Let them know how much you love them in return.

18. Complain The Right Way

Complaining often creates more complaining. Don’t get stuck in the loop. Identify the problem and address it constructively.

19. Schedule Fun Every day

What can you do today to make this an amazing day? Although the answer is going to be different for everyone, the premise is the same…Keep it simple.

20. Feel The Flower Power

Create a space with plants and flowers. They are beautiful on the eye and the smell is very sensual. It doesn’t have to be excessive. In fact why not ask a friend or neighbour if they would take a cutting from an established plant or from their garden for you to grow on as your own.

Don’t try to take them all on at once, focus on one a day or even one a week. The world is a little crazy right now and and it could really do with a big injection of happiness and kindness.
